When Stella came to the training place today, the grass was covered with magical staffs, wands and a whole color palette of gemstones. She was amazed, this was such a delightful sight! Walking around all of these little helpers, she recalled what she knew about this topic from the magic classes she had viewed on video back then: There were many objects you could transfer magic into. On the top ten list there were the things she could see right now, the top three even: staffs, wands and gemstones, be it as a necklace, in a staff or however you liked. The ‘devices’ were not able to create magic by themselves, but they had the ability to strengthen it or store it for the use in bad times.
Using spells with a wand made the magic itself take longer to hit the target (going through the wand first), but you were able to focus better and also strengthen it. A staff was very useful as you could hit people on the head with it (or somewhere else), stir a giant vessel (never use your hands for that, OMG!) or anything else. Magic for example. Only problem is that a staff was usually pretty long and therefore not that easy to take with you. Gemstones had the ability to look amazingly beautiful and store magic or strengthen it in a certain way, depending on what magic you transferred into them. They all looked so shiny…

“This is an important day for your magical career, defining you as a magician: Choose one of these and keep it forever, but you may not switch. Only one of these is truly yours for the taking”, she heard Clemens’ voice.

From now on, Jenna visited the training and education hours whenever she found the time because she had already found a job and home nearby before she had started ‘stalking’ them. Stella worried at first because she feared getting distracted from the lessons, but in fact Jenna actually made her feel welcome and calm, even though she only sat next to her and rarely said anything. Clemens had asked Stella before if it was okay that Jenna would take part and she gave it a few test hours to find out.
Sometimes, also Jenna gave her lessons: about melee fighting. She knew a lot about falling without hurting yourself and how to knock out the enemy. This was a new subject for Stella but she thought it would sure come in handy when in danger.
Jenna called Clemens ‘Kiwi’, this must have been his nickname as a kid as well! It sounded so strange to Stella’s ears. She didn’t know him apart from the training and they had never met for example to go out or something. Jenna however already asked her after the first lesson if she wanted to accompany her to the city and go shopping or eat ice cream. Stella felt like she had found a great friend in the furry girl.

Stella and Crumble learned a lot about Clemens today: He was the son of a rich family and had started early with magical training; Jenna’s parents had worked at the Kiwing’s house so they lived nearby with little Jenna and her big brother. Whenever he was allowed to take a break and felt like playing, he went over to the two kids and they had a lot of fun together. Therefore, the three of them had grown up like siblings and it was hard saying goodbye when they left one after another to find a job or study somewhere else.
Gladly, there still was e-mail and instant messaging but it just wasn’t the same and sometimes they didn’t have the time to write back.
Jenna was a very friendly and caring person it seemed and she also got along well with Crumble (which surprised Stella because of the usual dog – cat problems). They had much fun in the afternoon when Jenna had bought some new cat toys and played with Crumble until he was tired. This time he didn’t even use magic while playing, feeling like a normal cat could be a nice distraction sometimes.

His reaction was as fast as the wind and almost too quick for Stella’s eyes: within no time Clemens caught the shadow with a magical net right next to his head! You couldn’t see much at first, just a big pair of furry ears and a long fluffy tail. After a few seconds this picture changed and a girl was sitting in the net, hanging in the air.
Stella’s mouth dropped open as he let the net sink down to the ground and hugged the girl like a long-lost relative.
“What are you doing here? Such a great surprise!” – “I stalked you, you know…” – ” So that was the familiar feeling I suddenly got…” The two of them grinned at each other and Stella got more and more confused: who WAS this girl?! They kept talking for a while about the most important things that had happened (which were a lot it seems).
Suddenly Clemens turned around and said “Stella, you should get to know Jenna, my werewolf-sister!”

Clemens said he hadn’t noticed anything strange, yet Stella always saw a shadow between the bushes and trees, watching them. Even Crumble looked into that direction but didn’t dare find out what it was. In a break, Stella carefully went to the place she had seen the creature and found nothing… She could feel a scent of magic though, as if someone had just left a few seconds before. Stella really wanted to discover what happened there so whenever she found the time while training, she quickly jumped right into the nature (summoning a shield around here just in case), hoping to finally catch whatever had been watching them. Each time there were only the little pieces of magic left, somehow scaring her.
One day, Clemens attacked Stella with a giant ball of fire plus a lightning and she had to block them with a bubble shield as she couldn’t use water because of the eletricity. He felt victorious as she was struggling with the magic and grinned. Right then they heard a loud cracking, leaf-moving sound and a big shadow rushed towards Clemens, jumping at him!
